planning on going to college and need help on a laptop

Ok,so im planning on going to school for cisco network management, i have a "older" gaming pc but its a full atx and with a old power hungry i7 and a rx 580. so im trying to decide if i want to get a cheap low powered laptop or get rid of my pc and buy a gaming laptop. my price point is around 700 to 850 and only if i sell my old PC. Im not in a dorm so size is not a issue, i also i know im not going to get the same performance as my desktop and im fine with that. im a bit of a amd fan boy but understand if i want some more performance intel and nivida are the way to go. i do stream once and a while and still plan on doing it, im also looking at getting a cheaper laptop with a good cpu and thunderbolt so i can run a external gpu and gaming hard drive at home so i can focus on class when im in class.

This is a great option it is Amd ryzen 17.3 screen 144hz it is on sale right 1,299, just it won't come with extra hard drives and the 256gb m.2 is way too small so you will have to buy like a crucial 1tb at least a 500gb. Everything overclockable too.
