New MMO mouse with side buttons; but side buttons aren't working. Any advice?

TheGwardian

I set up just the basic 1 2 and 3 buttons to correspond to 1 2 and 3 on the hotbar for FFXIV. But when I press them, it does nothing. The firmware and icue software are all updated.

So I opened up sublime text (notepad) and tried, and still nothing seems to be going through.

Any ideas? Pic is for showing my setup.

Are you on Borderless Windowed Mode? Try booting up that Corsair program, log into FFXIV, change mouse game profile, and Alt+Tab a bunch in and out of FFXIV.

For some reason FFXIV doesn't play well with current PC peripherals. My Logitech G602 recognizes FFXIV about half the time after logging in. Usually Alt+Tabbing forces FFXIV to sync with the Logitech program. Also, FFXIV doesn't like my Logitech G710 as it turns off all the backlights. Every other game works perfectly except FF.

If you go into your Windows Device Manager under "Human Interface Devices", does "Corsair composite virtual input device" show up?  If not or if it shows an error, uninstall it, uninstall iCUE, then restart the PC.  Once you've restarted, then download and install the latest version of iCUE.  Let me know if this works out for you.

Sorry I took a while, I uninstalled icue, rebooted, reinstalled it, rebooted, and that seemed to work. Thanks!
