WD Blue 5400RPM 6.0Gbps Good Enough for Mass Game Storage?

Just putting the final orders in for my build this week. I previously purchased 2TB WD Blue 5400rpm drive. My main is Intel 660p 1TB that I'll put OS, programs, and favorite games on. Would the WD Blue 5400rpm be sufficient for steam game storage? I presumed it would only affect load times but some people say it can cause stutter in some games. What do you think?

I'd bump up to a 7200RPM drive, personally.  May get slight stuttering, but I never noticed any when I had a 3TB 7200RMP Toshiba drive as game storage before moving to SSDs.

That's going to be a little rough for game storage..

I'm running an EX920 SSD, that i partitioned off about 256 of to run PrimoCache on my 4TB spinning disk hitatchi pro.

It's a great balance of never having to manage the content of the NVME, and keeping my most frequently played games nice and snappy... but when they load off the disk.. you feel it. and that's on a 7200

Yeah I just can't imagine paying $200+ minimum for cheap 2TB ssd or m.2. May just return this one and get WD Black. Would get Seagate, way better price, but the drives seem to have an extremely high failure rate.

Your primary NVMe will hold a ton of games.  I would just get a cheap secondary HDD and swap games out.  The transfer speeds won't be heavily impacted by the spindle speed and you can move over games to the NVMe in the matter of seconds.
