https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16813157885 the board you recommended, but its a little on the expensive side

I'd save on the mobo and buy a b450 tomahawk, it's abt 100$ less and supports 3rd gen ryzen.

Buy the 1660ti Since the RTX series are still in an infant state and also an expensive one, the rx5700 has problems with gen4 from what i've seen so wait til amd fixes it.

The RAM frequency speeds are good if you go for the x570 but if you go for a b450 due to budget reasons u better go for a 3200 one

Pick up the 650w PSU, gen4 mobos seem to suck a lot of juice.

Why get a cheap B450 over a X470 that are usually better featured?

The GTX 1660ti is a very slow GPU compared to the RX 5700. The RX 5700 is at its first step and drivers will improve in the next month or two. I wouldn't buy a 1660ti and wait until Radeon drivers are better, just wait for 3rd party RX 5700 cards with better cooling.

Ram speed is related the CPU's Ram controller and the RAM speed itself, i don't think it as a lot to do with the chipset since have don't have enough experience yet with faster RAM on slower CPU/chipset.

Whats is you total budget if you have one?

What do you NEED?

What do you want about your build?

Can you wait to buy parts or you need them ASAP?

Buying cheaper parts right now to upgrade later cost more then waiting to buy what you really want, trust me about that i'm in that situation.

The Steel Legend is the entry level board, It's probably a 4 phases with doublers or 4 paralell phases + 2 SOC phases, good X470 boards will have a better VRM. Unless it's very cheap, i needed PCIe gen 4 or needed X570 chipset because i don't own a previous generation CPU, i would get a good X470 over that board.

4 phases times 2 (becauses they use doublers or parrallel phases) equal 8, then you had the 2 SOC phases, thats 4*2+2= 10 phases. Thats how they fool people with their phases. Some doubled phases are worst then REAL single phases, Gigabyte showed that with the B450/X470 chipset.

ok so i’m looking for a good overclocking board cuz i want to crank up my 3600 to its highest potential. looks don’t matter cuz it’s going in a no window case, i’d like it to have a decent amount of usbs, m.2 and if possible wifi. and the budget would be under 200 but under 250 if necessary

If you can afford the top tier X470 boards like the MSI Pro Carbon, the Gigabyte Ultra gaming 7, Asrock Taichi, that would make great boards for you, but I dont know about the pricing where you live. X570 lack of features make me avoid those ''low end'' boards in favor on better featured X470.

If you go the X570 way, you can take a look at Buildzoid review of these boards PCBs, you will the good and the bads of most of these boards.

I think I'm going to go for the steel legend. Cuz of this quote "this model also uses a straight forward 10-phase power delivery and includes an 8-pin and 4-pin set of 12 V ATX CPU power inputs to provide power to the processor." https://www.anandtech.com/show/14161/the-amd-x570-motherboard-overview/9 so yeah. if that quote is wrong ill look elsewhere but I want x570.

Don't get me wrong, but I don't trust those reviewers because they mostly read the Specs on the website and then test these boards with default settings, and there is 3 pages about packaging. Take the time to go see the videos Buildzoid made on YouTube, they are long but very instructive.

So I watched buildzoids video on the asus boards and I think i'm going to go with the x570 tuf wifi board, because it has good power delivery for overclocking, its mid range which is good cuz im only getting a 3600, and it has wifi and other nice features. what do you think?
