RTX 2070 vs RX 5700XT

vopos

I can get them both for a very similar price (~£10 difference), which one should I get, I've looked at benchmarks and they perform pretty similarly, thanks.

Personal recommendation: AMD

reasonable recommendation: do you need the extra stuf Nvidia delivers? go RTX

More performance: AMD, yes now they are basically the same perf, but we can expect more optimisations form AMDs side, since the card is new.

Computing (OpenCL): AMD

Do the 2070 and rx 5700 xt not both outperform the 2060 super

we only see the reference cooling for now and sure thats what you shall avoid having one.

that current rtx and pick a brand model you like, typically thats the same markup for super cards

or wait for custom Rx 5700xt s , they seem to be pretty thermaly limited. Maybe a nice custom 5700xt will outperform the 2070 (a little bit)

That long? Well I waited half a year, so what's one more month.

And yes, I agree because atm I have an RX 480 blower and it... well, blows, very loudly and not very efficiently.
