Hey, so It's pretty straight-forward. I want to compose music (different styles of Metal to be more exact) and I'm looking for the best program for the job.

I own no instruments, so I need it to have some sort of a library (or it could be a downloadable library or sth of that sort) with different kinda of instruments and different settings for them.

Can anyone recommend me something? Thanks in advance! :)

Free > Paid, however you can suggest paid options as well.

P.S. Quality / realism is appreciated, my pc can handle it. :D

FL Studio (Fruity loops) and Ableton are the most used (both paid).

LMMS is a free DAW, but in my experience it is not as good as the alternatives.

Cakewalk is free (previously that was Sonar).

But if you're talking about metal, you're out of luck. There is just impossible to create good metal using even most complex VST instruments (and most of them are VERY expensive). In best case you'll get something between rock and pop-heavy. link

Prices of these VST are so crazy, that will be much cheaper to buy real guitar and good low latency soundcard for it. Then postprocessing and mastering is absolutely possible with Cakewalk or other DAW.
