Steam problems

So I yesterday installed a new SSD to my system, and today I am downloading all the stuff again, because I formatted my hard drive. But I'm having a problem with steam... I'm sitting right next to the router (using wireless) but my download speed is about 50kbs, I usually have about 5 with wreless, and in the steam store I get big weird grey things by some game thumbnailes. I really need help, I really need the wireless for my pc, because I can't get a cable up to my room.

Re-install Steam? If you already have a drive accessible that has Steam on it than you can just copy your games from one to the other.

Ummm, as said before, try resetting the modem. I'm not very helpful in this situation, sorry :(.

How to I reset the modem?

There will be a small button generally on the rear or bottom of the modem. You should refer to your modem's manual for info on where it is and how long you need to hold it in for.
