650 ti

Veryplayable

Hello everyone! I am planning a new build. I am thinking of possibly going 2011, and in which case I wouldent have a ton of extra money for the gpu. Reasons I might go 2011: A LOT of streaming, video editing, software development and long lastingness. The game I would be streaming is CS GO. Thats really the only game I play (sometimes I might pick up minecraft or something like that) I wont even need to run that game on max settings, because of my such skill, much tweaking status. I am just asking how the 650ti is for basic games, and some video editing. Thanks!

EDIT: Budget around $1600 without os, monitor or peripherals.

you can go with 1150 and get a i7 4770k and still be fine for streaming and editing and if you do you could save money and get a 770 or something

I would get the 4770K or 8320 for those tasks they will last a long time and with overclocking even longer, 2011 is either for people with a big ego who buy it for the lolz and because they have money coming out the wazoo or professional users who actually need the extra things it brings a professional editor for example or any intense job that requires it

you could go 8320 & have a lot of money for GPU with ought sacrificing tooooo much horse power for editing (streaming is just as fast though)

Fair enough

if he used GPU rendering it would bridge the gap so +1

This is a good option if you are gaming as well as editing.

2011 is either for people with a big ego who buy it for the lolz and because they have money coming out the wazoo *snip*

I'm offended by this characterization, I do have an older LGA2011 setup, the reason why I'd gotten it was I had the foresight to see that such a platform would have greater longevity than, say, an high-end LGA1155 SB setup available at the time. I don't believe I have a big ego, nor do I have 'money coming out the wazoo'.

As for that build suggested by nsyedhasan, it looks solid to me though I've not heard of the RAM, only thing I'd change is the PSU.....why scrimp on a PSU on such a high end rig? Better to go with a Corsair HX650 at ~110USD:

I have the EVGA Boost SSC 2GB version of that card and it's not that bad, but you should definitely go for something like a 770.

I would definetly see if you could get a bit better of a psu, like a rm650, your choice though 600 would be enough if your not planning for like a second gpu, or a bunch of hard drives. Other then that I think it would work pretty well for a streaming pc.
