Any Asus with Flash Bios feature, I guess you can't with Gigabyte Q Flash but i may be wrong. Most motherboard need you to boot into bios, not sure if you will be able to but into with an unsupported CPU

Main System: Ryzen 2700, Asus Crosshair VII Hero, EVGA GTX 1080ti SC, 970 EVO Plus NVMe, Crucial Ballistix 3200mhz CL14, CM H500, CM ML240L cpu cooler.

Second System: Ryzen 2400G, Gigabyte B450 DS3H, RX 580 Nitro+, Kingston A400 SSD, Team T-Force 3200mhz CL15

If it ain't overclocked it ain't good...

Any MSI board more expencive thsn the B450 tomahawk i believe.

So x470 carbon Pro aint half bad.

If you arent Overclocking heavily, just get a Tomahawk

most of their B450 boards have bios flashing without the CPU like the mortar, gaming plus and B450-A Pro. they only have it on the gaming M7 for X470 boards for some reason.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

This table shows both what cpu you should run in the motherboard, but also if the motherboard has a bios flash feature without the cpu.

seems like it's only really MSI that does this on the 400-series boards, the only other board that has it is the crosshair 7. damn shame, would have made recommending zen 2 cpus so much easier.

@GoldenLag what is the difference between the b450 tomahawk and b450 pro carbon ac because they are the boards im looking at

Also just so im clear, if the mobo has a flash thing, does that mean i can install the ryzen 3700x with a cooler on and the ram etc boot it up and update and everything will be fine or do i just leave an empty socket update then install the cpu?

I know i should just wait for reviews  but im really impatient. Ill still watch them though

Flashback means you load the BIOS on a thumbdrive and plug it into a specific USB on the back. Click the Bios flashback button and then it updates.

Pro carbon has wifi and some extra RGB. I believe that is the only major difference between them.

Carbon AC also has better integrated sound (realtek 1220 vs 892) and Intel gigabit ethernet, which people say is better than realtek's on Tomahawk. These are the reasons why I want to get Carbon AC instead of Tomahawk, but it's sold out in my country atm.
