Is m.2 ssd worth?

I have got some money.. now my oc has windows 10 loaded into a samsung 850 evo.. if i get a m.2 pcie ssd will i see faster boot times or faster operations? Also my mobo is giganyte z370m d3h, does it support ssd os booting?

Yes, your motherboard should support m.2 OS booting.

 

If that M.2 is NVME SSD but if it sata it will perform the similarly as the evo.

 

As for window boot time, I personally don't see a major difference compare to sata ssd from a hard drive.

 

As for faster operation, yes if it has NVME ssd with enough cache. Will you see the difference in most day to day task for a average user, is no.

NVME should bring an improvement, but not as huge as the jump from HDD to SSD, more like a jump from SATA II SSD to SATA III SSD.

Not really noticeable in everyday use, but a vast improvement in benchmarks.

Add the new SSD, use the old one for games/programs, etc.
