You should wait a week for Ryzen 3000 to drop on July 7th.

If you're only going to be gaming at 1080p a used RX 570-580 can be had for around $100 and has perfectly fine performance.

NZXT cases will run hot in general, you should get something with a mesh front panel.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

NZXT cases are fine thermal wise. Science Studio did a video on it recently, and it cooled quite well. Also the 1660ti is a nice step up over the 580, which struggles with newer gamers at 1080p.

They don't compare well to a case with mesh for more proper cooling, the H500 is just the least worse NZXT case, and the bonus features on the "i" model aren't really worth it.

the Coolermaster MB511 is around the same price and has better cooling potential.

The RX 580 is half the price, and can run modern games just fine, at most you'd just drop shadow and AA settings to get your fps up a bunch, the 1660ti is maybe 15-30fps ahead on average, but that's still over 60fps on the RX 580 in most games at high/ultra.

as well the RX 590 is finally down to a decent price of $200, though I'd take a cheaper used RX 580 over it.

Yes a case with a mesh front panel will run cooler. However, unless you’re as overly picky as Steve aka Tech Jesus you will probably never notice it, especially with a 2700x (which runs cooler than intel’s offerings) and a dark rock 4. My cpu and GPU run perfectly cool in my h200i :)

For the 1660ti almost every step up in graphics cards is “only a 15-30 FPS difference”. That 15-30 can be the difference between getting a solid 60fps and not.

At least the RX 5700 is out now and looks pretty great for $350, especially once people discover how to overclock it. Just need the partner cards.

But if your case restricts cooling you can lose fps if your hardware isn't able to boost to it's full potential.
