iCUE nightmare

I have 6 fans on a commander pro controlled by iCUE. I have a couple of different issues with iCUE which I can go around but would like to fix properly!

1-Every third time I power on my pc the iCUE dash is frozen and I cant change fan profiles on my commander pro until I restart my system.

2-Once in a while I have a single fan that wont follow the new profile change and maintains the last profile until I restart my system.

3-When I restart iCUE software in the program I lose all dashboard arrangements and it states no devices connected when I actually have 3. They do all come back once I restart my system.

-I haven't found anyone else with the same problem and I don't like to restart my system every time I have problems.

-The devices I have connected are corsair vengeance RGB pro memory, corsair HX1200i PSU and a commander pro.

-I don't seem to have any issues with my devices other than my commander pro.

-I've uninstalled all the device software and reinstalled. All the software is installed on the same storage device.

-All software versions are kept up to date.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

I had a ton of issues with iCUE. Fan profiles not saving or not applying to other fans. Constant freezes, lags, crashes etc.  Switched to Corsair Link and vua la, everything works flawlessly.

Link used to be SO MUCH better too.  Shame they stopped it from reading everything and dropped support for it, it was the best software ever until that.

Good luck OP with iCUE it sucks

Yea actually like 4 years ago.  It used to read HDD, SSD, GPU (regardless of brands) temps and fans, etc.  It showed....everything...then an update came through and wiped out half the functionality, dropped future support then like 9 months later iCUE emerged

Do you still have the installer and would mind uploading it? I ask cuz imma change all my case fans next month, get a commander pro, LL140s and control it through iCUE but as said, seems the software is lacking... And as @Tristerin also said, the new version of Link is lacking too... So i wanna cover my basis

You use the lastest version of Corsair Link?

4.9.9.3. I don't know if its the latest one.

But does it really work flawlessly as you said before? No issues at all? You have a commander pro hooked up too right?

Yes, with 5 fans controlled by it.

Would I be loosing all the options that I enjoy on iCUE if I would use link?

ie: controlling the rgb on my memory, custom fan curve profiles or the dashboard information?

Just curious, have you reached out to our Technical Support staff yet?  If not, they can go over troubleshooting steps over the phone with you.  Couple things you can try:

  • Try exiting and closing out of any other RGB or Fan Control software
  • Try moving your profile with the custom fan curves to the top of the profile list (upper left) so it defaults when iCUE starts
    • Also, make sure the profile you are adjusting is a software profile (iCUE Logo) not a hardware profile (SD Card Logo)
  • Use the "Restart iCUE Services" button in the Settings tab if devices are not detected or freeze
  • Install the USB drivers from your motherboard manufacturer's website

Are there any particular applications you start or does your system go to sleep when all these issues occur?
