As of midnight last night (EST) the Dev's of CGminer have pulled the download for CGminer 3.7.2. This means that the only way to get it is from links scattered around the internet. A new dev team from Litecoin have decided to start SGminer, a purely Scrypt miner. It is based off of CGminer, but is giving more and more people better hashrates (1-10%). I recommend changing over if you haven't already! AFAIK no Bamt or LTCrabbit integration, but I believe that should be soon:

It works fine with cg watcher and remote.  - AK0490

Sweeeeeeet

If anyone has any questions about how to set this up, let me know. I know how to use cgminer extensively. If SGminer uses the same setup, I may be able to help with it.

Hey Vitalius, I'm an absolute noob when it comes to mining, but I just wanted to start to see if I can actually get anything from it. I was wondering where to start with LiteCoin, what I have to download, and what accounts I'll have to make. If you or anyone else could help me out that would be great.

Thanks for the link :)    But should I now use the SGminer, or stick with the CGminer?

CGMiner until you figure out SGminer. It's new. I haven't messed with SGminer yet. YMMV.

Literally... remove --scrypt and change the C to an S and you are away!

where can I download SGMINER?

i have only a zip with some files, how does it work? i heard it should work good for r9 290s... please help me :)

Extract to your desktop in a folder, then make a new text document, rename it miner.bat . Edit the .bat and put in

SGminer.exe -u username.worker -p password -o stratum+tcp://POOLSERVER.com:PORT -I 19 -g 1 -w 512 --thread-concurrency 24000

And off you go!

How will this work with cg watcher?

Supposedly, it should work, but the devs have no promises that it will.

I still have the cgminer 3.7.2 package if anyone is looking for it...

I'd like it...

Oh and also, I tried out SGMiner. I may have configured something wrong, because I was getting ~15 khashes. I'm currently using CGMiner 3.4.3, so I have that at least...

www.rankupgamers.com/cgminer.zip is my site with a copy posted, I think it has one of my .bin files, just delete it :P

Perfectly fine to distribute too, read "COPYING.txt"

I presume you want the windows one? I have the Linux one too if that's what you're looking for.
