Watt enough?

Hi

 

Idk if I am here right but I hope I am..

 

I am intending to build a new PC so I was wondering if the watt on my future PSU might be enough

 

cpu: ryzen 5 2600

ram: 16gb

1 SSD 1 3TB HDD

motherboard: b450 tomahawk by msi

GPU: RX 590

 

would be my (be quiet straight power) 550 W psu be enough or should I go for the 650 W model

Don't go crazy on overclocks, but that psu should be good enough.

I don't plan to overclock and 16gb would be sufficient enough .. for now .. I might add another HDD tho and for now ... I don't plan to update on the cpu cooler and just go with the stock cooler) ... would 550w still enough or should i just go with the 650 to be sure?

like, even if you overclock it's fine. RX 590 wont draw more than 300w, and even then 250w is enough to power everything else (including overclocked 2600, that's 150w max).

 

Tho do you really have to build now when 3rd gen is coming?

No, I am actually waiting til the release and then check if it's in my budget

 

so in short 550w is enough?

Yes... tho dont see the point of RX 590 either when GTX 1660 beats it in performance, cost the same, draws less power.

tbh i wasn't sure what GPU to take because everybody recommended me the 590 because its appearently better than the 580 (which i originally planned)

They are both overclocked variants of the RX 480, with new process nodes allowing greater potential (and AMD taking that to overclock harder) and power draw. Refresh of a refresh, so to say.

hmm i see..I guess i should reconsider my GPU choice then -> I don't plan to overclock tho..

sorry...i need to ask..so if I decided to go with the x instead of the 2600, the 550W PSU would still be sufficient?
