I need to consistently "persuade" websites I visit that I am from USA, what are my options in doing that for as little cost as possible?

You tried Hotspot shield? a VPN solution LTT/Wan show sponsored by them. So you can use the 10% off.

+1 for Mediahint

No, I need to make all websites that I visit to identify me as from USA, I already figured out tricks for viewing most media content restricted to US.

Also I don't need any anonymity, just the recognition of all websites that I'm from USA, nothing else.

Your best bet would be to get a very cheap VPS from somewhere listed on lowendbox.com and install Open VPN.

I would not trust products like hotspot shield/hidemyass/any other VPN provider.

i tryed a lot of different services, and i think Hotspotshield has the best price/performance ratio. Ping is bad but for 3$ a month good enough.

And btw you can't run the Netflix android app in different countrys because the phone knows there it was sold and where it is. It may be possible with rooting but not with software or proxys.

I tried Hotspot shield a year ago trying to buy Dragon Age Origins under heavy discount but US only, it didn't work. I think I even made a bad angry review on their official forum.

Why would they put the app on google play is not like they charge for it to scam a few people, jerks.

some sites can see your original location even with a vpn,

netflix for exemple can see i m from can even if i use a us private internet access vpn... idk how to bypass that.

maybe they use cookies or something...

Anything I write is just a comment, take is as such, there is no guarantees associated with anything I say.

If you use a VPN your connection will be slower so you have to decide if you want the privacy that goes with that or if perhaps a DNS proxy is a better option for you.  Haven't tried Hotspot Shield, but I was a user of HMA and it was ok for the price.

As someone mentioned, Mediahint does a good job of letting you watch sites like Netflix and Hulu through Firefox and Chrome.

Currently i'm using Unblock US as a DNS solution but there are countless others and most have free trials.
