THINKPAD USB-C HUB Not Outputting Video with Non-Thinkpad Devices

I recently bought a new ThinkPad X1 Carbon which came with a Thinkpad USB-C Hub. When I plugged it into my Asus Vivobook (which has a USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 port) into the hub, which was connected to a display via VGA, the Laptop (The Asus Vivobook) refused to output video through the hub onto the display. The weird part is that the hub still works with that Asus laptop like when I plug a mouse into the hub, it connects to the laptop, but just video output doesn't work. The Hub's drivers are all installed, and everything is connected properly. Does anyone know how to solve this issue?

For that to work the port on the Asus laptop would have to support Thunderbolt, which isn't always the case with USB-C. Check if there's a lightning symbol next to the port or read the user manual to find out.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨
