Technically its possible, but they're ground up and pulverized so finely that it wont.

Not good becuase of the uneven nature of Dies where as the paste fills in those gaps properly to provide the best thermal transfer.

It's not the best thermal paste but it's alright.

Unless you're rubbing the thermal paste on there like you're trying to put makeup on then it won't cause any harm.

Liquid metal is best, Conductonaut

If you don't want to do liquid metal then Kryonaut.

well ICDiamond is thick, so your only method is the dot or multiple little dots and let the mounting pressure spread it out.

Yes, Kryonaut is currently the best paste on the market not liquid metal. All the top pastes are usually within 1-2c of each other. So anything like Kryonaut, MX-4, NH-T1 etc.. are all going to give you about the same results, all within margin of error.

Personal preference. No real advantage or disadvantage. I personally use an X pattern when I do my GPUs. As long as you use a non conductive paste, which Kryonaut is, you can load all you want on there and it wont hurt you.

I never had any issues with it over a year of it being applied to my GPU. Spreading the paste on the GPU die is fine and probably better since you can ensure full coverage instead of hoping that mounting pressure does the work. Kryonaut comes with a spreader as well.
