Wanting to upgrade my PC a little bit, what should I focus on?

Sengr

Hello people, I have my PC setup and I have some money to upgrade (not something big like replacing CPU platform with another one). I like silence and I know my peripherals probably need some upgrade, but I am not sure what to upgrade.

This is my Rig:

  • Ryzen 1600
  • AsRock X370 Gaming K4
  • Gigabyte GTX 1070
  • Adata XPG GAMMIX D10 3000MHz (2x8GB)
  • Seagate Barracuda 2016 2TB + WD Blue 2012 1TB
  • Adata SU800 256GB
  • Corsair RM650X
  • Nanoxia Deep Silence 1, rev.B
  • SilentiumPC Fera 3 v2 + CoolerMaster MasterGel Maker, 11W/mK
  • 2x Nanoxia Deep Silence 120mm Ultra-Quiet + 1x Nanoxia Deep Silence 140mm Ultra-Quiet (The stock ones)

And these are my peripherals:

  • Dell U2311H
  • A4Tech Bloody V7 (I don't use higher sens than 1600DPI)
  • Connect IT CI-481 (I have no need to replace this microphone, it is low-end but I barely use it)
  • Logitech Z333 + AKG K92
  • Esperanza Titanum tk-101 - no-name office keyboard (It will be soon replaced)
  • Big mousepad, 90x30 cm

I don't like RGB and this LED stuff

Edit: forgot to put HDDs and SSD into the list

I'm an idiot

Hard to tell you what to upgrade if we don't know what you want to achieve.

Why do you feel like you need an upgrade?
Are you playing at a high refresh rate and not hitting the fps cap you want?
Do you want higher quality settings?
Anything non gaming related?

The second thing is what do you thing it is the worst thing on this, something that needs an upgrade (e.g. mouse, fans, keyboard etc.) and what do you recommend as a replacement.

I thouht about some 4-pin PWM fans but I am not sure what to pick

@StarsMars Unfortunately, this SSD costs over $150 in my home country. The cheapest terabyte one is Adata SU650 which costs $120 and it isn't very good SSD

You're computer is pretty strong so I was thinking a new (second) monitor but it depends heavily on what games you play.

There's always ssds or nvme ssds for faster load times.

Again depends on what you do, you seem to have over 3tb total drive space which is good.

But you'll know better than us if you want more capacity or more speed.

When I got into streaming I really appreciated a new microphone but as a normal gamer it depends if you do any competitive stuff; in some games callouts can be important and being heard well matters there.

Realistically then you should save that money until you need and upgrade or something you really want comes out. It’s easy to get eager.

@c0d0ps Yes, I was thinking about the monitor but I don't have space for it.

I usually play RPGs and some shooters, in last weeks, I really got into the Overwatch competitive but I am low-rank noob and in my rank (in Overwatch, it's big issue on the Europe server across all ranks), there's almost no one using the voice chat, so the mic upgrade will probably be worthless, since I mostly play singleplayer games and it is enough to chat with friends via Discord.

The SSD is also a good idea but the prices here are higher, i thought about some 500GB SATA SSD, something like Patriot Burst ($55 - $70)

I have a lot of space but I have it filled with games, programs and things, so I have only about 0,7TB left

Ok then, but I know the keyboard should be replaced, I'm not sure with which one, should I keep it in this thread or create a new one in the Keyboard section?. It has weird layout for me and I don't feel comfortable with it.

Thanks for your help, y'all, I really appreciate that

Sounds like you are willing to save some money but in case you really want to buy a new keyboard i'd probably make a new post for that so you can get better help.

ok... the ssd. Get a 970 Evo plus for 70 dollars. It might be a lot for 250gb but as you might already know the ssd makes everything faster, and nvme is an ssd even compared to an ssd. Other than that, maybe the CPU. But, if you did I would get a Ryzen 3000.

Maybe a Ryzen 3600/3600X once the prices settle down or maybe a new 144 Hz monitor.
