Change to WD Black or keep my WD Green

wako7654

Hi i just purchased a WD Green a few hours ago. Its 3TB so capacity wise its ok. However im pondering if i should return it for a WD Blue/WD Black because i think its a bit slow. How much performance loss am i missing?

I have a 129 EVO SSD for my boot drive and games, Should i just keep the WD green or swap for a Blue/Black?

Go for barracuda or blue. Blacks are overpriced. If you REALLY NEED more speed get a velociraptor.

Cant find any barracudas, youd be surprised how scarce computer parts in this country is.

for storage you won't feel any difference.

I got a velociraptor 2 or 3 years ago. Currently using a 64gb agility 2 for cache. Such speed. (they were both on sale for less than $150 at microcenter back then... still a horribly stupid purchase)

Yes. The best route is a wd blue / barracuda and a ssd boot drive.
