help making sure third party software is deleted

I recently wrote a test online which required a proctor, I downloaded their software and they controlled my computer for a few minutes (changing some screen settings) moving my mouse around and ran a script closing background applications. After I finished my test, I ended the session and closed everything. How do I make sure that all of their software is off my computer? (im a little bit paranoid).

Something like revo uninstaller would work well for this. It scans the PC after the uninstallation for you.

Use Autoruns to check. If nothing is set in any type of startup / trigger, then you're safe. Even if there are some leftovers somewhere on your drive.

I didn't have to install it, just ran the .exe file

I don't know what is this (safer updater), but probably some crap. This one AdwCleaner should find. If not - uncheck it, delete program folder and search in registry for this (then delete all keys associated with it).

I unchecked it, deleted program folder under program files(x86) and searched in registry, found it. Deleted all keys and the folder in the registry, one key couldn't be deleted, is this normal? btw I really appreciate the help, thxbefore I delete folder ^^^^^^^

After you deleted folder, you deleted it. Look at left - you're on "Scarlet.Crush Productions", not on non-existing "Safer Technologies". You must be very careful when you do something inside registry and always check both sides - left and right.

 

Try maybe some faster/better registry editor (like Registry Workshop) that can find all keys at one search (and is much faster).

 

I don't know is that all, probably yes unless it's some kind of hardcore virus/malware (I don't think so). If Autoruns detects nothing at autostart and AdwCleaner detects nothing dangerous and your AV do not say anything - you're fine.
