I have 2 options at the moment,

A Gammaxx 400

A Gammaxx GTE

And this Segotep liquid cooling system solution:

https://shopee.ph/product/78346282/2197225249?smtt=0.0.9

Which would be the best option out of the 3? I'm planning to overclock a Ryzen 3 2200g btw

Motherboard: MSI B450m Mortar Max

Processor: Ryzen 7 2700 w/ Wraith Prism

RAM: Klev Cras X 3200mhz 8gb x2

GPU:  Zotac Mini GeForce GTX 1070ti 8GB

PSU: Seasonic GX-750

Case: Inplay Robin 101 + 10 fans w/ hub and remote

Storage: Toshiba 1TB, Western Digital WD Green 1TB, Crucial BX500 480GB

that segotep looks pretty sketchy. I wouldnt go for that, if it fails (maybe starts leaking), it could probably either ruin your whole system, just your cpu etc. OR your cpu will get hella hot, and cuz of that later die/stop working.

Go for the Gammaxx GTE. If you dont wanna risk getting your system ruined by some cheap chinese all-in-one water cooling. If you really want water cooling get something from a known company, like the corsair H55.

this makes the water cooler sketchy:

image.png.dacf7ef28d0896e5f0afddb29ec8f83d.png

They cant even spell AM4.

And this:

image.png.e4afae425e2ec9006e5563c2e6d81821.png

Im pretty sure that cooper base isnt 1,99,7% copper, more like 99,7% copper. Cant spell Copper properly either.

And this:

image.png.cbfc6411a1444240868855c00800accc.png

Cant spell "compatible"

Now this may only be some minor spelling fails, but im sure that if they wasnt so cheap, they would have fixed that as soon as they made the mistake.

And also:

image.png.b56886d61c4fa37ef48a7eae2c3f0360.png

No reviews for it.

Yea pretty much there are claims that the single fan segotep handles temps well (60° at max load) but it's very cheap and very doubtful...

Is the GTE very different from the 400??? Or is the RGB the only difference?

I think the GTE version can handle more powerful cpus, compared to the 400. And yes, that RGB is a diffrence too.

Huh, I think I'll just get the GTE then. It's around 8$ or so difference anyway. Hehe.

Yeh do that. Its the safest way. That GTE cant destroy anything in your system. If the fan dies, the heatsink should still be able to keep that cpu passived cooled, at least until you notice it and can get a new fan. If the pump dies on that water pump tho, oh boi, that cpu will get hot!

Am I mistaken or is the Gammaxx 400 better than the GTE?

@DankDeuxez Pretty sure the issues with the text are due to whoever formatted the listing for the seller which isn't Segotep. This is more of a problem of the seller than the cooler itself.

Temps on what? There are plenty of factors that determine temps and they aren't translated well without accounting for them.

They don't use the same heatsink, fans, or mounting hardware. The only thing they share is the brand name.

The 2200g is very easy to cool and there's probably no practical difference in terms of oc'ing headroom with any of these coolers.

The Gammaxx GTE is the quietest of the 3 but the Gammaxx 400 is still a good option if you don't value the difference in lighting or acoustics.

Where are you getting that idea? Even the manufacturer's website you're linking to is displaying a higher TDP for the GTE than the 400.

That being said, I haven't found many direct comparisons and they seem to perform similarly. I can't confidently say which performs better but I'd guess it's the GTE.

I'm sorry I'm bad at determining cooling quality... I read the reviews on the segotep one and one customer that gave it 5 stars said the 60 degrees thing....

Well pretty much got the idea since the CFM is lower... I thought higher CFM = better.

And yes, same as you, I haven't found any direct comparisons that's why I was just guessing that the GTE only has better lighting..

Thanks for clearing things up though!

Yes, higher cfm is better. The cfm is how much airflow the fan is capable of with no restrictions. In real life, there heatsinks and other components that obstruct airflow and reduce to effective cfm. The ability to overcome these restrictions is measured in static pressure. Higher static pressure indicates less loss in airflow pass certain obstructions.

Fans are only part of what determines performance though. Besides good contact between the cpu and the cooler base, the bulk of the performance is often determined by the amount of surface area on cooler in the form of heatsink / radiator fins for the air to pass through.

Due to the high amount of surface area on the WC-Halo 240 and results from similar coolers, it does seem like it would have the most raw performance out of the 3. That being said, the extra cooling might not be worth more than the lower noise, lack of pump, and lower price of the other two coolers especially on a cpu like the 2200g where you're likely to be more limited by voltage than temps.

Understood. Well pretty much, I might upgrade to a future Ryzen if I can since the AM4 socket is here to stay for a while, so for future proofing purposes also, what would you recommend me out of the 3?

The Gammaxx 400 is fine if you just want more headroom for oc'ing and something better than the stock cooler. The GTE is similar but slightly quieter and has a different aesthetic.

I wouldn't recommend going with the WC-Halo 240 unless it's cheaper or if you really want that AIO aesthetic.

I'm looking more into the long term, a cooler that will still hold up through a few Ryzen upgrades and will be of good value

If you want the cooler to last particularly long, an air cooler without a pump would probably be better since you could easily replace the fans later down the line. Ryzen sockets are probably going to be the same for a while so that shouldn't be a problem for any of the coolers.

If you wanted to run more power hungry cpus in the future at stock settings, the Gammaxx 400 should be fine. If you're plan to oc more heavily in the future, there are better coolers available.

hm... I don't think I'll be using a ryzen 7 in the near future, maybe a Ryzen 5, so yeah, would a Gammaxx 400 or a GTE suffice that? I OC, but not really that much.

Yep, it should be plenty for cooling.
