PC Building: Booting With An Old SSD

Hey y'all I need some help understanding how booting a new PC with a used SSD works.

I am using older components to save money and one of them is a SanDisk X400 256gb SSD I used on my old i5-6400 pre-build.

 

If I am installing a new ryzen 5 cpu, how does the boot up process work with an SSD that was never wiped out?

should still work the same just you may have to reactivate windows is all and update drivers. But I have had no issues booting up from my SSD or NVM.2 that I have upgraded components with.

Sounds like it was Windows 10. Soooo...

 

Windows 10 will boot with a screen that says "Getting Devices Ready", where it will uninstall all drivers it doesn't see devices for anymore and install new ones. It does not uninstall them fully, only remove them from use, so run a program like system ninja to get that space back and clean up your system overall.
