Would like roughly the same budget.

I'm kinda sold on Dell (awesome customer support), Best Buy doesn't even ship most models to Soviet Quebeckistan. Is there better bang for buck? I can survive without the L337 RGB whatever aesthetics, old school beige is good enough.

Customisation is pretty much the same than baseline, might opt for a slightly better screen.

Canada. Roughly the same, 3000 before taxes.

High end gaming obviously.

Weight and battery life not a problem.

I highly recommend this laptop. I've had mine for 2 months now and love it! The performance, cooling system, keyboard, screen, build quality, it ticks all the boxes perfectly.

See my review about it here: Alienware Area-51m Review by Ultra Male

I recommend you get it from HIDevolution and have them do their magical thermal updates. In the laptop configurator, choose Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut + Fujipoly Extreme Thermal pads. That by itself reduces temps by 15C and that's what I have on my laptop as well. Also their quality control is superb so you'd have a better chance of getting a laptop that works 100% out of the box and they do ship internationally.
