Hallo

 

Time to get some more space have 2 x 120gb SSD now...

 

OS Win 10

Games:

-World of warcraft

-Final fantasy

-Gta

 

What would be better 1 big SSD, 1 SSD for Os 1 for Games.

 

M2 For OS and games on 2.5, or games on m2 and OS on 2.5

 

Or SSD for OS and all games on HDD?

Best is OS on an SSD, so if you have to reinstall Windows you don't lose your games/data..  Then games on another SSD.  Then Movies/music/pics on a HDD if they're too much for the games SSD.

 

M.2 or 2.5" makes no difference.  Only go NVMe if the prices are the same.

 

For you, I'd get a 500GB or 1TB SSD for games/storage.  

 

Or you can partition a large drive for Windows / Games, but I prefer 2 physical drives over a partition personally.

Really SSD won't benefit for games that much, only loading times.

With the space requirements for AAA titles, 50gb minimum, a gig of drive will be filled quickly, not mentioning updates data.

I suggest you get a big HDD for games, 2 or 3gb at least.

The question is not what's better, as that is pretty obvious. SSDs are always better than HDDs, especially the high-speed NVMe ones.

The question is, what you're willing to spend and what you need.

A single large 7200RPM HDD is still good enough for storing games, but if you can spend the money, then I recommend a normal 2.5" SSD.

They're fast enough and not nearly as expensive as good NVMe drives.

 

Doesn't matter if it's M.2 or not. That's just a connector type.

	In my price range the Samsung 860 QVO 1TB and Intel 660p 1TB costs the same.

If you have lots and lots of money and don't really use a lot of storage, NVMe SSD for OS and some games, SATA SSD for other stuff.

If you have lots and lots of money and use a lot of storage, NVMe SSD for OS and some games, SATA SSD and 4TB HDD for stuff that doesn't need fast storage.

 

If you don't have lots and lots of money, a SATA SSD and a HDD with at least 2TB capacity. Scale according to your budget.

I have 3 drives total in my PC, one Samsung 970 Pro 512GB for Windows, Applications, and a couple games. A 1TB Samsung 970 Pro for only games, and a 4TB Seagate IronWolf Pro for Movies, game recordings, and anything else like documents and downloads and such.

I can use my old Hdd for dowloads/documents, for movies i have a Madvr Htpc, for torrent download i have a 3rd pc.

 

I only use this pc for internet and gaming,

Then purchase according to your budget and space needs.  That simple.
