Help Out A New Guy :P

Go to solution Solved by brob,

The chance of memory modules from different identical memory kits not working in dual channel is very small. If you can't get a 4 module kit, just mark the sticks in 1 kit so you can distinguish the two kits and keep them together.

You large system will not work as desired. In order to use the DMM.2 riser x16 PCIe expansion slots may be restricted. My understanding is that with two M.2 ssd installed in the riser the two primary x16 slots would run at x8 and x4 respectively.

For the describe usage I'd suggest a 1TB M.2 NVMe drive and a 4TB SATA III ssd. That should be more than sufficient.

Consider using a single gpu in either system. SLI is not necessary given the monitor.

Configure the mini-ITX system with a 1TB M.2 NVMe drive and let it use the 4TB SATA III ssd in the main system.

Headless means without keyboard, monitor, or mouse.

Im Making This PC i jus wanna know if im missing something or something is not right for the build any help would be highly appreciated :) Thanks :)

That's very overkill for a 1080p monitor, and do you really need 2 gaming systems? The builds themselves are fine, just the monitor is underpowered for what you have and is it really necessary to have 2 gaming systems?

Did you consider the Corsair and Seasonic SFX psu?

For the ATX system, I'd suggest getting a single 4 stick memory kit, i.e. quad channel. Doing so eliminates the chance that the sticks get mixed up. (There is a small chance that sticks from different kits will not work together in dual channel.)

Is the mini-ITX system going to be headless?

The mini-ITX cpu cooler is a poor choice, https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/cooler-master-masterair-g100m,5650.html. More importantly the cooler only has 34.5 mm memory clearance according to the specs. Trident Z memory modules are 44 mm tall.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

I did try to find one but it was hard to get one in India currently and im sorta nervous about importing them as last time it took me 30 days of work to get it cleared .

About the ram its the exact same ram in 2 boxes 2 ram each will it still be a issue.

i really got no idea whats headless xD so sorry abt that

could u recommend me some low profile air cooler for it ? would be nice thanks :)

I believe the regular M.2 slots use chipset PCIe lanes so they would not interfere with gpu.

An aio pump block should fit nicely on the mini-ITX motherboard.

You might find the videos at https://www.kitguru.net/components/leo-waldock/corsair-obsidian-1000d-watercooled-dual-system-part-2/ somewhat instructive.

Just now, lee32uk said:

You could easily do that with a single system. A 9900K or 2700X would handle gaming/streaming.

I know but I have a i7 9700k lying around so jus using it as my friends come to my house to play games too I thought they could play on it also (I'm a nice friend I assume)?
