Hi there all,

I want to ask for suggestion, i'm planning to build a computer for my office. The computer used only for standart work office. The budget is around $250-300

Spec that i propose are like this:

Intel Core i5-4590 3,3Ghz LGA 1150

Gigabyte GA-H81M-S2PH

Kingston SSD SA400S37 240Gb SATA3

Corsair DDR3 Vengeance Black PC12800 8Gb (2x4Gb)

Seasonic S12II-450 EVO 450W - 80+ Bronze

Is that bottleneck? or too much? or not enough? let me know what you guys think.

Thank you

Basically any PC with an SSD and 8gb of ram minimum will do fine, @BigRom's build is an example

okaaay then thank you all :) actually it's not for me, but for my coworker. also i stick to Intel instead of AMD. i'm just affraid is it to overkill for daily work office or not, based on the budget. for now that's all i could think of for intel build in that budget.

Why not AMD? Everyday use will be the same, it’s about price and performance. AMD are much cheaper than Intel at this performance range and their motherboards are cheaper too, so it’s probably a better choice.

it is difficult for me to explain why it's better to use AMD instead of Intel, for me personally i use AMD. but it's hard to convince my boss to change into AMD because he still think that AMD power consumption and temperature are worse than intel, so he prefer use intel rather than AMD. i still give them the option for AMD build tho.

for my personal rig i use FX-8350 and planning to change into Ryzen 5 2600x

Tell him Intel costs more money than AMD, lets see how quickly he changes his mind.

Show him the stats then. Also like what @BigRom said emphasise price to performance.

If you're gonna try convince him then here are some points:

-Better stock cooler is included

-CPU Price

-Motherboard Price

-Power consumption difference between the two are insignificant, won't affect anything at all

Anyway, difference between Intel and AMD low end CPU is not much when you consider that all you're doing is internet browsing etc.

If you didn't manage to convince him that AMD is cheaper at low end,

If you can get this new for < $300, it would be a good deal. Although the psu is less than ideal. A more modern unit with better protections would be a good idea. Something like a Corsair CX450.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

i'll try my best to convince my boss to convert to AMD hahaha.. thank you so much for the recommendation. i don't need to buy casing and another SATA storage because she can still use her previous case.

for my build, in my country it will cost around $260, minus the kingston SSD because she already bought it first. so Corsair CX450 are better than Seasonic EVO then?

Yes, it is a newer design with more protections.
