120Hz failed

Hello

 

when I switch to 3840 x 1200 120HZ via advanced display settings my screen starts flashing every 5/10 sec

 

Gpu: Sapphire Nitro Vega 64
Amd Gpu driver: 19.6.1 got same problem with driver 19.5.2
Monitor: Samsung 43 "CJ890

 

Have tried 2 Dp cables, monitor is set on Dp1.2

From Samsung user manual:

 

Maximum resolution
3840 x 1200 @ 100 Hz (HDMI)
3840 x 1200 @ 120 Hz (DisplayPort)
3840 x 1200 @ 120 Hz (USB Type-C)

Need another Dp cable? or do I need to adjust more settings in Radeon than just 120Hz, if i make new resolution and set 120Hz i get the following message when saved:

The settings of the adjusted resolution are not compatible with this display, reconfigure your settings and try again.

on the settings of the monitor does it say 120hz because sometimes it might not be native 120hz

What drop down options do you have in windows for refresh rate?

Does it work at 100 Hz?

Yeah it works perfect on 100Hz

Probably not a cable issue then. Not sure what the cause of the problem is though.
