Got my p20 pro replaced (damaged beyond use before the huawei drama, got the replacement a few days ago. Works 100% normal, except I can't send texts. I'm with Vodafone in the UK.

Could it be to do with the huawei drama? Anyone who's more up to date with it know if that's problem?

I'll try and get it into the phone store I bought it from soon to see if they know what's wrong, since I'm not that clever when it comes to phones on a software level.

It's not going to be anything to do with the US trade restrictions.  Those just concern Android OS updates.

Checked with other Vodafone users in your area to see if it's a problem on the carrier's end?  It happened after you got the new phone, but it could be a badly timed outage.

Other troubleshooting steps could include turning cellular service (not just data) off and back on, or doing a factory reset if you have things backed up.

I tried my sim in another phone and it worked fine so it can't be a problem with the sim. Went to the store I bought it from and the carriers store and both have no idea what could be wrong with it aside from it physically not working. They said that once I'm certain the issue is phone based and not sim based I should call the company I had insurance with since the phone they gave me is faulty.

I should have tried my sim in another phone first but for some reason I didn't think of that. I Will call the insurance company tomorrow since local time they would be closed, I'm hoping after a call with them my problems can be fixed
