So, the computer used around my house is a family computer. It's a pretty over the top system (although, no discrete GPU) for what my parents intended to use it for. Intel i7-8700K, Asus Strix Z370-E, 16GB 3000Mhz DDR4 (dual channel), but not much else.

Earlier today, my brother was on this playing Fortnite (I don't play it personally, he mostly uses it). Fifteen minutes into him playing, we got a BSOD with a SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION error, saying that dxgkrnl.sys failed.

Computer restarted and booted fine, but where should I look to fix the problem?

It's a DirectX fault, I wouldn't worry about it too much now however if the problem persists I would look at ways on how to fix it.
