Why are KNX interfaces so expensive?

I have a Siemens Instabus/KNX system in my home, that is somewhat broken - half the switches do not correspond to the correct switches, and so i think it needs reprogramming. 

Does anyone know where to get a KNX interface that is under £100? why are all of the usb ones so expensive? 

Is there a cheaper option than USB? could a raspberry pi or arduino be used as an alternative, or is there a restriction on what can and cannot be used?
