I just replaced my cpu from an Ryzen 1300 to a Ryzen 2600, and reconnected my fan. After I booted it up, I got a cpu error light on my motherboard, and the monitors did not show any activity, let alone come out of sleep. My previous cpu worked without issue, so it must be with the cpu.

Have you updated the motherboard BIOS before replacing the CPU? B350/X370 motherboard do not support new CPUs without an update.

I entirely forgot to! I haven’t updated my bios since I got the board, how would I be able to?

Go to the support page for your motherboard and go to drivers and downloads select the bios tab, download the file, it will either be an .exe you can do in windows or you will have to transfer the files to a usb and then use the flash utility in bios.

I’ve opened up the bios menu to flash it, but I can’t get my usb to appear, only my hard drive

Did you plug it in to the front io panel or in the back, straight into the motherboard? Try the latter, if you haven't. Have you tried a different USB stick?

:)

Okay, I’ll try the back next. I’m going to try a program I found mentioned in my manual called MSI live update, which was mentioned as a way to flash the bios.

I’ve tried different ports and a different usb, is it something with how the drives are formatted? They’re both NTFS drives, 64 gigs each.
