It looks rather thick, does that mean it's a touchscreen? Or am I just genuinely stupid?

The design looks like a touchscreen but this is not.

It’s probably thick for the backlight. It gets up to like 1600 nitts peak brightness. Also, I think it has local dimming, but I’m not sure.

The screen does have a full array LED backlight instead of the usual edge-lit screens used for monitors, so this will definitely make it thicker than the usual LED monitor.  Local dimming wasn't mentioned, but the 3D graphic they made suggests it might be a feature.

This is the standard finish used on most Apple screens.  It's glossy, but anti-reflective at the same time to reduce glare.  They're also going to have a new nanometer-etched matte option for even less glare, although I expect this will cost extra.
