Transporting my PC: will it be safe?

I will be transporting my PC tomorrow (specs in signature) and I want to know if it will be okay if it set flat in the backseat of my car.

 

It is only a one hour drive but I am worried about the graphics card and the CPU cooler.

Remove your hard drive and GPU.

I would be worried about the HDD, maybe remove it and cushion it. Just make sure that you set the system down on its side so that the motherboard is facing up.

I move mine about a fair bit, I just  remove the GPU and make sure the case is either stood up, or the NH-D14 is the side against the floor. I don't want it hanging over is all.

i've transported my computer on long journeys in my car with it secured in the back and i've never had issues. even transported builds i've done for friends and family members who live a couple of hours drive away. they've worked perfectly fine. 

 

My advise is just make sure it is placed securely, so it does not move around a lot and if it is unlikely to hit something. Make sure it is something soft  ^_^

Last summer, I traveled 3 hours between two homes every(or every other) weekend. Reference 780s are tough. A backplate would be overkill. Not sure about the ACX... The only hardware failure I had was my SSD, but I highly doubt it was caused by traveling. Just make sure it's not prone to toppling over, and don't worry what other people say. Everyone made jokes about me transporting my whole rig everywhere I went. Some people take their pets, I take my PC.

Seeing these posts makes me not worry as much, but I might remove the GPU and the HDD.

I wouldn't even really worry too much about the hard drive honestly. I've never had an issue, but I would be afraid of the graphics card pci breaking during travel if it isn't supported and is heavy.
