What are you planning on using the PC for?

New X570 motherboards and Ryzen 3000 series CPUs will release in 1 month (7th July), so if you're looking at investing $4,000 in to a PC you may as well wait a month.

For Ryzen CPUs you want faster memory (higher frequency). At least 3000MHz is generally recommended.

WD Black HDDs are a complete waste of money. $180 for a 4TB HDD when other 4TB HDDs are $90-$100. Makes no sense.

You don't need a 1000W PSU with a single graphics card. You're better off getting a better quality PSU rather than a higher wattage one.

You may also find pcpartpicker.com helpful in choosing components and finding the best prices across different stores.

Multiple GPU set ups don't scale well with gaming these days. You're better off sticking to a single card. RTX2080Ti is pretty powerful by itself, you shouldn't need to run two cards.
What monitor are you planning on using?

The WD Black NVMe SSD is fine (actually rather good). It's just the Black HDDs are overpriced for what they are.

You could instead buy a WD Blue 4TB HDD ($100) and a 500GB SATA SSD ($60-$70) for less than the cost of the WD Black HDD. Install your most played games on the 500GB SSD and use the 4TB HDD for media, stream recordings, and maybe games you don't play often or games that don't benefit from faster drive speed.

Alternatively you could just spend the money you save on the HDD on a larger capacity OS drive like the Samsung 970 Evo 1TB for $220 and use that for your OS & games with a 4TB WD Blue/Seagate Barracuda for movies, etc.

If you're gonna spend 4K, spend 4K right man!

Zen2 (3rd gen Ryzen) may be a better way to go, we will have to see what comes up in the next month or so.

  • i9 9900K: If this thing isn't unseated by Zen2, then it's the way to go at this budget
  • I included a full RGB build here for the extra FPS :P
  • H100i RGB PLAT, Z290 Aorus Master and 32GB RGB DDR4 3200mhz
  • This NVMe might be overkill, but hey... It's really solid!
  • Watercooled RGB RTX 2080Ti
  • Great PSU
  • 27" Curved screen 1440P 165hz 1ms G-Sync monitor (basically this thing is badass enough to handle your GPU.)
  • I kept your very strange case choice, since you said you liked it above... But I'd grab a https://pcpartpicker.com/product/G766Mp/cooler-master-mastercase-h500-atx-mid-tower-case-mcm-h500-ignn-s00

I'd say this is a Ferrari or a Bugotti :P

I wanted to fit this ridiculous thing in there, but it's overpriced as all hell: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/CzrmP6/lg-34gk950f-b-340-3440x1440-144-hz-monitor-34gk950f-b

  • According to PCPatpicker it's the only super widescreen 1440p monitor that runs at 144hz and 1ms (or any other response time...)

Woah, Thats detailed. But wouldn't having more cores be useless if im just gaming and streaming? Im not used to building Pcs so yea!

It will certainly help with the streaming/recording during gameplay. The 9900k is also a little bit of a step up in FPS and potential clocks from the 9700K.

I just figured I'd swing for the fence. A 9700K would be great also!
