I'm having this annoying problem with gta v where after a few minutes of gameplay, I just get these annoying texture bugs or whatever they are! Also I bought a gtx 1060 3gb like a week ago, and since then I have this problem. Before this gpu I had a gtx 950 which didn't cause me problems like this. I'm playing on very high textures, but this shouldn't be causing the issue as the frame rate is around 70-80fps.

I've tried performing a clean driver installation, but it didn't help. Tried underclocking the gpu, it didn't help either. I need HELP Please!

And nom I don't always have tgis, usually when playing as michael, but this might just be random. Sometimes I can play like an hour with out this.

I'm gonna attach an image about it just to figure out if any of you guys had/are having the same problem, or it is just me suffering from this unplayable annoying crap.

Any help is appreciated.573681625_GrandTheftAutoVScreenshot2019_05.24-20_28_12_50.png.f0dfbb9e96caab5cf955fb72bc953ba2.png

Rest of the specs:

8gb ddr3

i5-4590T CPU

My hdd is a 160gb old sh*t cuz my old 500gb one was dying hence I got this one as a temporary replacement from some random source, according to hard disk sentinel it is on 100/100 condition, but it does give weird noises, this one might be dying too. Can this be causing a problem?

A 64gb ssd

Any help is REALLY appreciated.

It could be the drive. You could run a test that constantly pulls different file from a drive to test it, I don’t know much about those apps

Your CPU base clock is 2.0 GHz which turbos to just 2.6 GHz on 4 core games(GTA 5). For the settings you are playing the game at, it's recommended that your CPU hits around 3.2 GHz like an i5-3470. Try setting all your settings to what you see below and see if it helps...

gta5g2.png.93d1355f627306f464c8138f12e38597.png

gta5g3.png.b38d5133f8904cfca758e6deb7b10567.png

gta5g4.png.dbb8d84fc8e9274afba642ea442bf682.png

gta5g1.png.2d481077375bcafd831b0c301e1fd401.png

These are basically the mastered settings of GTA 5 to maximize fps without losing visual fidelity. Try playing with ALL your settings at OFF/Normal FIRST to see if your settings being too high is what is causing your textures to load like they are. If the issue you are having goes away, then that is great. You could then try the settings I have show you above and see if that works out for ya'.

That old HDD could be the culprit but lowering your graphic settings to OFF/Normal is much easier to test out first. If you think your HDD is the issue, just play other games. If it does this in just GTA 5, I'm thinking your graphic settings being too high is your issue.

These are just a couple troubleshooting steps. They may or may not fix your issue. Make sure to have patience when trying to fix these types of things. Your GPU is fine for GTA 5. Your CPU is fine to run GTA 5 but with that low CPU clock, running Very High settings across the board might give you issues like this.

Thanks, I'll def do lower the settings, tried playing other games, Subnautica and Crysis 1. I've only tried subnautica once and it crashed, with the message Subnautica.exe has stopped working. Crysis gives weird noises and stutters. If it really is the HDD than I'd be surprised cuz hd sentinel says it is 100/100. But I'm getting a new one anyways cuz of lack of storage. Also it might be important to note that the gpu is manli branded. Could it be the gpu failing? Thanks guyz

Welcome. This could be a hardware issue if multiple games are crashing, giving you texture/stuttering issues, weird noises coming from them and you also mentioned your GTX 950 did not have this issue.

What were your Subnautica settings on when the crash occured? Is the HDD new or used? Is the GTX 1060 3GB new or used? When you had the GTX 950 in your PC, was this HDD also in your PC?

While Manli is made in Hong Kong, I'm not familiar with it being trustworthy or not. I would think something about it would be low-quality but that doesn't necessarily mean it's failing or is a bad GPU. ANY GPU can not work from day 1.

Ok so I've adjusted the settings according to the images you sent, played like 20 mins, I don't know if it is enough gameplay or not. But in the city performance just drops minute to minute. The fps is always above 60, but it doesn't really feel like 60 however I might be wrong. When I go out to the countryside performance goes back to normal. I think I'm getting a new 500gb hdd will see what happens. Subnautica crash occured just randomly, I was tampering with the settings and it just crashed randomly. But also I play war thunder and dauntless and they don't seem to have any perfrormance issues, even on max settings... So what do you suggest?

This is completely normal in GTA 5. It's just how the game is. Countryside fps will be higher than fps in the city.

  • Are you still getting the weird textures? If not, you're on the right track.
  • Does Subnautica crash on the lowest settings? If not, this is a good thing and I will give you the best settings to raise them to.
  • Is the HDD you currently are using new or used?
  • Did you get the Manli GTX 1060 3GB new or used? If you got it new, how long have you had it now?
  • When you had the GTX 950 in your PC, was this HDD you are using now also in your PC?

As to answer your questions in order:

I know there is fps difference in gta v country and city. Just noticed how it was above 60 but didn't feel glorious.

I have uninstalled subnautica.

It is used, as I said got it as a temporary replacement, from a local, well this might be cringey, but I got it from a flee market. This doesn't mean I get the rest from there.

The gpu:

I got it from a seller on a used hardware forum, but the card was new. I think that when it was hard to remove the display caps it is enough proof, that I got the card new. I got the 1060 last thursday, as I didn't upgrade immediately.

The 950:

I bought the 950 as a USED card last year june, and sold it at the end of april.

I had the 950 with the failing 500gb one which I got rid of. But I got the 160gb which I have now hdd in the last 2 weeks of my time with the 950. So 1.5 months ago. I didn't experience anything unusual except for poor performance in gta on mostly normal settings as you'd imagine for a 950.

All I want to do is figure out if my gpu is not the issue, and I'd like to know it within a week if possible, because I have a 2 week return period which ends next Thursday. I am just looking for a way to find out and this gta v annoys me. Also I've tried unigine benchmark which got pretty high frames even on higher settings, with no texture bugs.

And as always, thanks for the help.

60 fps will not exactly "feel" glorious. Fps starts to feel glorious when it hits around 80-90. When it goes above that it feels as lag-less and buttery smooth as it gets.

This is a mistake. Subnautica is a very beautiful game. Not only does it look good but the game play is highly addictive. I think you just had your settings too high.

Oh wow. This not good, even as a temporary replacement. Installing an HDD from a local flea market is not something I'd ever even consider doing. Ya' might wanna replace that thing asap. I recommend to at least get an HDD and make sure it's at least 7200 RPM. I personally can recommend Western Digital, Seagate or Toshiba. $23.00 ul' get ya' a Toshiba 500GB HDD right now on Amazon delivered to your door in 2-7 days for free. $39.00 for a 1TB Seagate Barracuda HDD. $47.50 for a 2TB Western Digital HDD.

Was the box sealed? If it was not sealed, it was not new. And whether it was used and for how long will remain a mystery. Display caps can be put back on ya' know.

A 950 is actually a pretty decent GPU, I wouldn't imagine poor performance with the settings above and a few changes here and there.

Welcome. If I were in your shoes and I was able to return that GPU, I wouldn't hesitate. Not because it's a weak GPU, I LOVE the GTX 1060 3GB. But simply because you can. Then you could put that money towards a more reliable brand. And I'm not knocking that brand. It's just something I would personally do simply because you have the power to do so. Once that return period is over, you no longer have the power to do so. It's a peace of mind kind of thing. Owning a better brand will give you the peace of mind that it's simply easier to trust if you know what I mean.

Best of luck in the choices you are about to make.

Ughh, I got the gpu at a lower price than other ones, and the card looked really new. It was shiny, the pcie was shiny and etc. If I return it I'm not getting anything better only an other 3gb one which was actually used for years. I can't currently buy a new one cuz I just don't have the funds and the "power". I'm 14. Making my own money. But I'll try to write to the guy. And see whats up. Thanks

GPU's can be cleaned up to look brand spankin' new. Whether or not it's new or used you may never know. People can show and tell you anything they want.

If you return it, you then have money to put towards a new 1060 3GB. Which is around $140.00. And yes, $140.00 brand new.

No, I do not have the money actually, cuz i got it 20000ft cheaper which is like 70 bucks. And I belive the card was new. Are there any ways to know for sure? The stickers were pretty shiny etc

Stickers don't get much wear and tear sitting inside a cool PC case. There is no way to know. Why do you think people sell them left and right? If you only paid $70.00, one, you don't need to return it now, that's not much money to worry about a return. And two, you got what you paid for. If the GPU is worth more than $70.00, why wouldn't they just sell it for what it's worth? I could be wrong but I could also be right. If it pushes the fps you can expect in other games, then there's probably nothing wrong with it. Especially since you are no longer getting those weird textures after lowering the settings. If I were you, I'd test more games. Make sure that thing does what it's expected to do before choosing to keep it. Try games that your CPU doesn't bottleneck your GPU. Get that GPU to push some solid fps in those games. Then you can feel like you got an excellent deal at $70.00.

I didn't get it $70. I got it $70 cheaper than the original price. I've tried crysis again. No noises. Just gameplay on max settings. I get above 60 sometimes drops to 40-50 when 20 north koreans spawn on me. What I am suspecting here is that the guy stole a whole bunch of them, he is still selling them. Also, no that is not mine. http://www.manli.com/en/products/NVIDIA_Graphics_Cards/10_Series/products/91 This is mine,

I don't think this was a miner card. When I said I couldn't take off the display caps I meant that I literally had to use a sharp tool to remove them. What games do you suggest where there would not be any bottleneck? Only legit games I OWN which are not free games, are subnautica gta v and ac unity.

I edited my comment above with some games you should try. There's a lot of free ones that should suffice. Left 4 Dead 2, Paladins, Warframe, etc, etc. I'd start with Paladins.

Also what I have realised is that the fps is really similar in gta v when I change the settings to what you sent. Only no texture crap.

Paladins gave me minimum 70 fps with the 950 on max, when I was playing with it but I don't really like that game. I might get warframe tho as soon as I get a hold of that new seagate 500gb hdd I found.

No fps change. It just doesn't drop below 60. The fps is the same basically on high/very high and on normal/off with the very high textures. All games give me same fps for some reasons, ignoring the fact that I'm changing grafix settings

Sounds like you may have v-sync on? Turn it off.

How many Hz is your monitor?

Most games have v-sync. And if your NVidia control panel Global settings is set to v-sync ON, then all your games v-sync should be on by default unless you set them to OFF in their .exe program settings in the NVidia control panel.

Sounds like you may have v-sync on? Turn it off.

How many Hz is your monitor?

Again, some cringe my monitor is 1440x900 and games give me an option to choose 75hz or 60hz
