Hey!

So~ Pretty much
I Restarted my Laptop to factory settings, And I was looking on some tricks to save space on my Boot SSD Drive, and that was to move " My Downloads " to my Hard Drive.... I did this exact thing on my Desktop bc it is VERY handy.. BUT when I tried to do this on my Laptop i kinda messed up and didn't create the folder named "Downloads" I just pasted it in the D/: Drive by mistake... and when I go to make a download folder, and change it to that folder I get this error ( See photo )

Any ideas ?

To me it looks like you are trying to tell the D:\ drive, to shove everything into D:\Downloads, which Windows won't let you do since as it says, you can't put a parent into a child. In this case, the parent is D:\, and the child is D:\Downloads.

To properly redirect something like the downloads folder to another drive, you can either manually create one, and then ask Chrome or whatever to always save to that location, or you can re-direct the actual default downloads folder in Windows for your account.

To do the latter, which I assume is what you are trying:

  1. Right Click on Downloads in Windows Explorer on the left, under Quick Access or This PC
  2. Click on the Location tab
  3. Click Move to tell Windows to move downloads to the selected folder

Note, this can break some programs, but it's not super common. Also, I think this is what you are already doing, but you're trying to move the entire drive which isn't correct.
