Looking for a powerful lightweight ultrathin laptop

My desktop is pretty cursed and I very frequently switch between my laptop and my desktop. Being able to unify the two together into a single machine would really improve the quality of my life. I have a set of requirements, and it seems that there are several products that check all the boxes except one, which is really frustrating. I'm posting something here as a hail mary, maybe someone here knows of a good machine/brand.

Must have:

  • 1080p or higher screen resolution
  • ultralight: < 3 lbs
  • A cpu that scores > 9000 on the passmark cpu benchmark test
  • A cpu that doesn't throttle
  • Thunderbolt 3 (supports external gpu)
  • Touch screen
  • < 15" screen. Maybe a 15" screen if the bezels are thin enough.
  • Not made by a Chinese company like Lenovo or Huawei. I don't trust them.
  • Windows 10
  • 16gb RAM
  • >256gb m.2 nvme ssd

Nice to have:

  • < 4K resolution. 4K will just waste battery.
  • Backlit keyboard
  • Windows hello/fingerprint reader
  • Not a 2-in-1. I already have one of those and I only use it as a normal laptop.
  • mx150 or mx250 or other dedicated graphics
  • No vents on the bottom. I fear setting it on my bed would suffocate it.
  • Speakers somewhere other than the bottom
  • Webcam above monitor
  • Thin bezels
  • Charging via usb c (preferably the same port that can be used for the external graphics card).

So far the closest candidate is the Razer stealth 13". Linus's review on it sums up my reservations pretty well though. The latest HP envy 13" is also really really close, unfortunately it does not support thunderbolt 3...

Thanks for any insights!

Huawei matebook x Pro 2018........

It runs plain windows. It checks all the boxes other than you disliking china.

And since it runs plain windows that shouldnt be an issue.

Thanks for the suggestion! I might have to go that route if that really is the best option. I'm more worried about the BIOS and other lower level software being compromised than windows itself. As of now I'm looking at the LG Gram, which is looking really promsing so far.

Do laptops with thunderbolt 3 innately have the ability to use external graphics or is there more to it?

Most do, unsure if you do need a titanridge thunderbolt chip.

Most E-GPU setups use Thunderbolt 3 for its connection. I recommend a Razer Core X. I use one for my 1080ti and it works dreams. I can play most modern AAA titles at ultra settings. However, I also recommend when using it to have your pc plugged into the wall.

A powerful Laptop I'd recommend is the Razer Blade Stealth. If you can afford the bigger Razer Blade Pro I would go with that route.

MacBook Pro 15”

Wouldn’t buy a Razer with how bad their QC had gotten now.

Dirty Windows Peasants :P ?

Just do a clean Windows install. Not a big issue imo

Sadly most mobile CPUs nowadays will throttle (mainly power throttle)

I'm worried about the spyware and such being in the bios and other lower level software.

Ideally <$2000, but I'm not too worried about budget. I want a lot of bang for my buck though, so that kind of excludes apple and razer.

I'd go with the MSI GS65, superb specs, thin and light

Forgot to ask, any preference on battery life?

Sure you don't want Chinese brands?

I got an MSI laptop once before and it was a mistake. One I won't be making again.

No particular preference for battery life.

Thanks everyone for responding/trying to help me out! I think for now I'm just going to wait until intel comes out with their new cpu which will have thunderbolt support built in.

Manufactures will still need a license in order to enable Thunderbolt in any models
