Hey guys I built my new rig today and there is an issue with windows 8 I did an update to what appeared to be the latest update so I could install windows 8.1 from the store but it seemed to freeze my machine, this happens when I log on and the start screen appears the hard drive LED light also stops blinking. This issue only happened when I updated it before it was running fine and not freezing at all can I get some help?

Hmm...I don't always recommend this but it's the next best thing to reformatting your HDD/SSD and installing Windows 8 again. Do a Windows System Restore that's back far enough which was before you did the update and this should fix your problem. The problem with some Windows updates is that they don't always work or the update may try to update something that doesn't need updating and so it can render problems of all sorts. So do that system restore and see how you go from there.

ON A 7 MONTH BREAK FROM THESE LTT FORUMS. WILL BE BACK ON NOVEMBER 5th.
