I'm new, Also A Pc Build Virgin

Well cut a long story short I'm a console gamer & with next gen looking very bland (only game I'm looking forward too being titanfall which is out on PC too ) Pc gaming looked to be the right choice as I do a little editing, rendering & looking to have a beast rig to game too
So i found linustechtips useful looking at Pc build & tech altogether I'm saving at the moment & the build will take place in march Budget off £1000 on the pc build alone 
this will be my first build Let me know what you think about my build is it good or bad
Cpu : intel i5 4670
Heatsink : NH-U12S 
Mobo : Asrock Z87 extreme3
Ram : 8 gb corsair vengeance low pro Black 1600mhz (don't no weather to get a single modular to allow better upgrade ability )
Psu : corsair 550w modular 80+ bronze
Ssd : samsung 840 120gb
hdd : seagate barracuda 1Tb 
Case : Fractial design R4 Black with window (like minimalistic look ) 
GPU : Amd R9 290 ( Hopefully get to see how mantle goes before the build also yet to decide which non reference cooler card brand to go with Msi,gigabyte,sapphire) 
build cost  £993 without Mouse/keyboard, BR drive and monitors plan on adding this the month after the build

Get an i5 4670K and a Gigabyte Z87X-D3H. It will be a bit more expensive, but you will be able to overclock and the board is better quality.

I would recommend a 650W power supply although a 550W will do it.

I'd say go for a R9 290 with a DCUII or Windforce. If that is too expensive get a GTX 780 DCUII, Twin/Tri Frozr, Windforce, or ACX.

I would recommend a 650W power supply although a 550W will do it. 

I was thinking about this too as i know psu supplys the Gpu & with the 290 being a more power demanding card would be safer to go with the 650w or even a 620w

And for the future but 650W won't be enough for dual cards but it will always be good enough for a single.

The windforce is £375 at the moment & the msi/ sapphire Cards are £350 but because i am building in march prices will go down a little + I'm hoping overclockeruk weekly sale happens on the windforce

If you're going to wait for Mantle, you might as well wait until it comes out to plan your system. Parts and prices change often so any plans you come up with now will likely be irrelevant by the time Mantle arrives and you make your decision.

Update to my build ive saved more than I expected so I've upgraded alot to this rig
Cpu - i7 4770k
Heatsink - swiftech h220
Mobo - Asrock z87 extreme 4 ( i like the features + the stealth black ascetics was a toss up with the Msi gaming G45 ) open to suggestion ?   
Ram - Patriot 8gb 2x4gb ( salvaged from a mate epic win )
Psu - coolmaster V650 ( is this overkill for the build as was going to get a corsair cs550m both are gold 80+ ) 
Gpu - Sapphire tri x Radeon R9 290 
Ssd - Samsung Evo 250gb
Hdd - 1tb seagate barracuda
Case - Fractal design R4 windowed
