Hello everyone !

I found an old Z400 Workstation from HP in an electronic dumpster, brought it home, plugged it and it worked perfectly fine. I was really happy about it, especially since it was the one with an Intel W3520 CPU (4 cores/8 threads) and 6 Gigs of RAM. I decided to add up a graphic card to it to make it a cheap decent gaming computer I could use on the side. Since I needed a better PSU to power it up, I decided to plug in a Corsair CX750W to it but it did not boot. So after that, I plugged back the regular HP PSU but then it didn't want to boot anymore and I would get the motherboard doing this :

I tried unplugging RAM one by one, taking away the motherboard battery, unplugging the PSU and holding the power ON button down for over 30 sec, but nothing worked. I then found out that HP built their 24-pin in a way you can not use a regular PSU for those computers which really sucks...

Have I fried the motherboard ? Could it have also fried other components like the CPU ?

I could get another motherboard but it is actually the only pricy component there since CPUs cost about 20€ and RAM can be found for dirt cheap.
