Is i7 9700K worth it? Or should I wait for the 10th gen?

What do you need the PC for?

I'd get the 9700K. Can you wait 1~3 months for AMD's Zen 2? Many rumors and leaks show that it'll have much better performance than Intel, even in gaming where the previous generations (Zen and Zen+) were much worse than Intel at gaming performance, and it's rumored to be for a pretty cheap price too. It's supposed to launch this Computex, then it should be on store shelves after a few months.

Of course, there are reasons to not go with AMD. If you need the iGPU for workloads such as Adobe Photoshop, get Intel. If you are an Intel investor, switch to AMD  get Intel. If you live in a place where the latest AMD processor you can buy is the K5 from 1997, get Intel.

Ryzen 7 3700X / 16GB RAM / Optane SSD / GTX 1650 / Solus Linux

Yeah I’m kinda an Intel investor. But recent leaks and news about Zen 2 is mouth watering. So overall My confusion level is ‘Zen 2 9700K’ ??????

Is your monitor 60hz or 144hz? What's your current CPU?

MSI Optix Mag24c 144Hz and the cpu is very poor. It’s i3 7100

Then it just depends if you want to save money with Ryzen, which is likely good enough at probably half the price
