So I have an Asus prime x370-Pro and it says on the box that it can handle up to 3200 MHz but it shows up to 4200 MHz in the bios. Why? Can I really go up to that?

is this an XMP profile you're looking at?

No. You might be able to overclock a little higher than your XMP profile frequency but you won't see anywhere near 4200 on Ryzen 1st or 2nd gen..

3200mhz is good.. Now use Ryzen calculator to tighten the timings a little so you can squeeze a tiny bit more performance out of your system..
