Have a Ryzen 7 2700x with a Asus x470i Strix board(itx) in a Nzxt H500i case. Running the stock AMD Wraith Prism cooler and the Cpu in the stock 3,7GHz. The cpu temp idles at 38C, while browsing around 40C and during gaming usually at 54C max 58C.

Lately have been thinking on going cooler and maybe pumping the cpu back up to the 4,1 GHz with what it actually came out the package. So been looking for options to cool this cpu down but there are a ton of options. Thought about a Dark Rock 4 Pro dual tower (according to bequiet motherboard compatiblity check it will fit) but not exactly excited about it hanging down from the small mobo.

Anyway is there some air cooler out there worth getting that will give me maybe 5-10C while not being like super big/heavy or should i just go for a risky AIO like h115 or x62?

I would get a Noctua or a dark rock pro 4.

The last thing i will put on my PC is an AIO cooler, just don't trust them

i agree

partly

i do trust companies like asetek

but liquid coolers are only better in short bursts, not in anything like some good gaming

I'd get a nhd15 specifically from noctua, or a drp4

I agree why spend $120 on a cooler that has a pump that will likely fail in 2 to 6 years, when you can get an NH-D15 that only has fans that will fail which at best are only worth half the price of the cooler, esp. when the NH-D15 performs better, and cools the VRMs. honestly in most cases I believe a heat sink is a much better investment.

Have you tried oc'ing with the stock cooler first?

The DRP4 is excellent and the weight is no issue as long as you mount the cooler and motherboard properly.
