I'm planning my first PC build for Gaming/Editing etc and I'd like some thoughts and suggestions if possible. The power supply and case for certain, I didn't think the memory mattered too much as long as it fits and is 3200 with 32 gbs of dual channel memory

You are gaming at what resolution/refresh rate?

What editing software are you using?

Overclocking or not?

You already have the PSU?

Also the PSU is a crummy company and you don't need 750w.  You can grab this Corsair 650w Modular 59.99.  Also the 9900k is 430 bucks unless they raised prices recently.  409 for a 9700k or 440ish for a 9900k is a no brainer get the 9900k from amazon.  Everything else looks good.

That PSU you say is crummy is actually a great unit and beats out the CX650M in electrical performance, and silence. Never judge a PSU by the brand.

That CX you recommend also has coil whine issues when paired with high end GPUs at load. From what I've seen, the Whisper does not.

OP does not need 750W however, 550 is more than enough.

Having a better known name attached doesn't make it better...

That CX and the Whisper is both made in the exact same factory.

You could fit a 9900K into that budget, although the 9700K/8700K are both better value.

This would do great in streaming, editing and gaming. I've replaced the Noctua cooler for this be Quiet! just because it looks a bit better, and does about the same in actually cooling the CPU.

You don't really need 32GB in most tasks, and it's pretty easy to upgrade, so here's 16GB.

I've replaced the SSD with a NVMe one that's better value, and the HDD with a 3TB 7200RPM drive that's less.

The Radeon VII will do better than the 2080 in a lot of productivity workloads, and has more VRAM for times when you need that, such as 4K gaming. RTX isn't really used in games yet, so I would ge tthis instead.

If you haven't bought the PSU yet, I would recommend this model instead: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/2HbwrH/corsair-rmx-2018-650w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-cp-9020178-na

If you can wait however, I'd go with Zen 2, coming out soon. The rumours look pretty good.

For right now 1080p but I plan to move up to 1440p or 4k when I do some more research on monitors

I'm still deciding but I switch around multiple like Sony Vegas and Adobe etc

Most likely won't overclock.

Don't have the PSU yet.

Thank you mate, I think it would be better overall to wait. I've been saving and waiting for so long I kinda went overboard lol

I thought it made the most sense to go with an RTX 2080 over  Radeon VII but I think you have a point

If you are using Adobe products like Photoshop or Premier Pro, you need to stick with a Nvidia GPU for the Cuda acceleration and better compatibility with Adobe products. If you are editing video using Premier Pro/Elements then I would stick with an Intel build so that you can take advantage of Quick Sync. I'm not familiar with that particular 2080, but lee32uk made you a beautiful build above.

You should consider switching... the RM650x is cheaper and pretty quiet too.

Adobe Premiere benefits a lot from CUDA acceleration and Intel Quick Sync. If you can, I'd still wait for Zen 2, and pray that it'll reduce Intel pricing.

This is what I'd go with:

I kept the 9700K because it will perform better than the 8700K in gaming (average FPS, and lows) and in editing. The Aorus Elite is an excellent pairing for it. I went with 16GB of RAM because I believe it's all you're going to need for now and you can always throw in another 16GB kit later on if you wind up needing it. I kept you on the 2080 because it sees benifits in Preimiere Pro due to CUDA optimization. Plus in gaming it will allow for Ray Tracing as a bonus. I went with a lower wattage RMx PSU just to save a few extra dollars.
