Suggest me a gaming monitor

Looking for a 240hz gaming monitor.

My budget is high and my PC specs are a 1070ti and 8700k. Currently I'm using my TV screen and I've come to a conclusion that I NEED to get a gaming monitor. I've been recommended the Alienware 240hz with g-sync but I am looking for other suggestions :)

240Hz is a marketing gimmick.

Your system won't reach anything near those frame rates in almost all games.

What's your budget?

What games are you playing?

How big do you want the monitor? 24", 27" ?

240Hz is not a marketing gimmick.

But true his system won’t reach it anyway.

1. Like I said I don't have a budget, if I find a screen I really want I will work for that money, so I really don't care what monitor I get as long as I like it and it suits me.

2. I play GTA5, CS:GO, PUBG, RUST, APEX, etc.

3. Honestly my desk as space for 27" but I also want to buy another monitor in the future so probably a 24" will be my choice.

Why do you think my system won't reach it? I mostly play cs:go and I want to get in competitive but I can never do it with a TV monitor...

If I go with a 144hz one I will get 2.

also people told me it's a waste not to get a 240hz monitor with my build...

CS:GO is the only game where you will get 240+.

The rest will be 60-150 depending on Settings.

The best monitor you can get is the ASUS PG279Q.

Best monitor for my build or in general?

also should I upgrade my graphics card before buying a monitor? my 1070 ti will be useless after the upgrade pretty much(?)

Its the best monitor you can buy for 1440p 144Hz when you look at image quality, response times and input lag.

I’ve yet to see a better one.

I used to own one one up until last month when I switched to the PG27UQ (4K 144Hz).

Get the monitor first and see how you fair with your setup.

Try some settings and see the FPS.

If you then feel you need more FPS - then perhaps look at an upgrade.
