Guys, I wanted the Alienware AW2518H or any of the 240hz monitors. So I'm wondering if my setup will run it well? I have a RTX 2060 Founders Edition ( not clocked yet) i7-8700k(not clocked yet) and 250GB SAMSUNG 970 EVO and also 2X8 DDR4 RAM at 3000MHz from Adata

In what games?

Seeing as your GPU isn't bottlenecked, you probably won't be too far off from a typical benchmark:

So mostly not so much. 144hz seems like the sweet spot.

I want to play mainly CSGO and maybe some PUBG?

So as you can see, you could barely run csgo at 240 and pubg is nowhere close. Is it worth it to you?

Personally, I'd get a monitor with better looking pixels rather than fast ones. But I'm a completely different kind of gamer.

Like, yeah, 240hz is hella cool, but try to be rational for a second. Is it really worth that kind of money?

Got any recommends for a 144 then? Also if I were to upgrade? what should I upgrade so it runs 240hz consistently?

No, all my experience with 144hz is from this gaming cafe, so I don't know "what's good".

I don't have any experience with 240hz, but I'd imagine the cost of a graphics card alone should be around the price of a 2080, 2080ti even, but I'm not too sure. Are you sure you want to pay the early adopter tax for that tech? Do you have anywhere you can at least try at first? What do you have now?

Believe me, if you're using a 60hz 144hz would blow your mind more than enough.

As said, depends on the game. If you're willing to drop to low settings, and are playing eSports titles, probably pretty well.

AAA titles? Yeah, probably not. Especially not with an entry level GPU.

Better video card. 1080Ti, 2080Ti.

If he's willing to lower the settings getting greater than 144hz, closer to 200 isn't overly hard. Everything on low, it's probably pretty easy on a higher end card.

Okay so I plan on overclocking all my stuff that can be clocked, so it should give it a boost. Plus the 1080ti and the 2080ti are just out of my reach right now. Maybe during summer? For now I just bought my prebuild pc from Cyberpower and upgraded it from a 1660ti to a 2060 for a additonal 100$. So I might upgrade to a better GPU during summer.
