Thanks, what are the custom settings you recommend?

Welcome. Here are the settings. They give you maximum fps without losing visual fidelity.

gta5g3.png.76fbcfa18f11d9b5df3c50b82a7f0c5c.png

You may want to turn down distance scaling to around 20-40% instead of 60%. Start at 20% and if you experience any pop-ins like poles appearing out of nowhere while driving, then bump it up to 30%. Test for pop-ins, if still present, try 40%, so forth and so on until the pop-ins aren't there. 20% will give you the best fps and I've had great results with it.

Other than that, if you have any questions about any of these, I'd be more than happy to explain each individual setting and everything to do with why it is where it is.

I'm pretty sure that PS4 controller will do just fine. I personally prefer an Xbox One controller and even an Xbox 360 controller works great. But if you've been gaming with a PS4 controller for a while, it's what you should go with. Even a PS3 controller would work too.

Before I drop the $30 & waste 2 days downloading it, I'd like to know how good or bad my system should run GTA 5. Specs are in my signature, hopefully someone else in this community has some at least close to mine that's played the game. I've tried finding videos of gameplay but most just run a 1060 6GB while mines a 3. Do y'all think I should easily be able to get a consistent 60 FPS in most places & if so on what graphical settings?

I played it on gtx970 3.5gb. maxed everything avg 55fps.

you may need to turn down just a few setting, v-sync shadows etc.

Thanks! Just the possibility I could run mostly high is fine. In very few games have I ever noticed a difference between high & ultra. Especially on my panel, is your card OC'd?

With that 16GB 3200mhz RAM i think you will be fine with a mix of high and very high settings.

Thank ya both, I'll probably buy it then soon. Not sure if I'll get a controller too or not, friends said I should otherwise driving with the keyboard will be terrible.

GTA 5 hits $12.00 - $15.00 at least twice a month.

Your PC will do just fine running GTA 5. You will get above and beyond 60 fps in most places on custom graphic settings. I've mastered GTA 5 graphic settings and I gamed using an i5/1060 3GB for almost 2 years. Your mobo and RAM is much better than mine too so you'll get excellent fps and the game will look as close to Ultra as humanly possible provided you use my recommended graphic settings. I'll be sure to let you know when it hits a low price tag. It'll be sooner than later so avoid buying it too soon. It's guaranteed to drop to $12.00 - $15.00 in May.

And btw, I use a controller and it's much better than using K&M if you prefer using a controller. I'd be happy to give you some tips on establishing yourself in GTA Online as well. Especially if you want to avoid modders and griefers.

Thanks, what are the custom settings you recomend? I'll wait until it price drops & also, which controller do you recommend? It'd be nice if a PS4 controller would be fine as then I could also use it at my friends house when I play there.

Thank you so much, I've always preferred PS4 controllers over Xbox for whatever reason my hands get lost on an Xbox lol. Probably because I've never owned one, only a PS2. I rarely use a PS4 except at friends so that's the controller I'll get that way I can use it at home & there. By the way, are custom controllers worth it? I've seen a few sites that do it but I don't know if they're a scam or they offer something legit.

Not in my lifetime. Custom thumb-sticks may come in handy for when the ones you have now wear out after 5 years of use or so but other than that I've never had any reason to own a custom controller.

Oh, I was just thinking in terms of cosmetic purposes lol. Sony offers some nice official ones but the possibilities of custom have me interested. Although when I designed a custom one, controller chaos quoted me $190 =\.

In case you haven't bought it yet, it's hit the $12.00 mark again in May... GTA 5 $12.30. You have just 46 hours to snag it though.
