Which raspberry pi? (or smiliar)

G1K777

Hello,

I used to pay money for various hosting services to develop my websites.
I would like to use a raspberry pi locally (or similar) to run nginx and nodejs on it.

Which system/server/computer would fit me?

Are there any downsides when using a Radxa ROCK Pi 4 Model A, 1GB RAM, Version 1.3 ?

A friend of mine told me that Raspberry Pi 3 B+ supports more systems than the Rock Pi 4.
So far I'm familiar with Ubuntu, Archlinux and Fedora.

You might be able to try debin in a VM if your not already accustomed to it. It runs pretty well on the 3 B+

I got the Rock Pi 4 A and all the needed things except a USB -> eMMC adapter to install an image on it...
I can't find any eMMC to USB adapters :(

You could install directly to the eMMC from your PC by connecting your PC via USB-cable to the OTG-port on the Rock Pi -- https://wiki.radxa.com/Rockpi4/dev/usb-install

As those instructions require Linux, you could e.g. install Linux in a VM on your PC and do it from there.
