Hey guys I'm looking to replace my basic speakers in my truck there is four of them and it's a 1993 Sonoma I was thinking either of these, but any suggestions? I want it to have good sound staging like as close to headphones as possible. Thanks for any tips!

I will strongly suggest buying the same brand and model lineup within that brand for your front and rear speakers. Mix-matching otherwise will likely sound a bit weird, because each brand tunes their speakers differently, resulting in a tonal unbalance.

JBL is alright. Rockford Fosgate is better.

If you've got the money, I'd recommend checking out Focal, CT Sounds, DD Audio, and American Bass.

Do keep in mind that to really get the full potential of aftermarket speakers is to get an aftermarket head unit, and possibly a 4-channel amplifier to properly drive the aftermarket speakers (depending on their power rating).

And as said earlier,  you're never going to be able to reproduce the soundstage and imaging a headphone provides in a car. It's just impossible with how sound waves function.

EDIT: If you need an aftermarket head unit and amp, just ask. I'll help with that as well. :)

so I only have four speakers in my car and I was planning on replacing all 4, 2 in the back are the oval looking ones, and the two in the front are the circle ones. so do I just buy this twice? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001P88U12/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_hAMWCbMYET3V3?tag=linus21-20 and what would you recommend for the new headpiece I don't want to spend too much I want the whole thing to be under 200$ if possible. Thanks again for the help you're awesome!

OK hold up here, more info is needed. First are you running these off a stand alone amp or just off the head unit. If its just off the head unit what kind is it? How much are you looking to spend total for all the speakers? Are you using a subwoofer? All of these questions need answers to properly suggest something for you. Also do you have any pictures of the speaker places in your vehicle. Unless someone cut speaker locations in aftermarket that vehicle should just have 4x6 speakers in the dash and 4x6 speakers in the rear. Online they say 4x10 but Im pretty sure they are 4x6, we need to get that nailed down before you start ordering stuff

You need to buy the speakers that fit your car. Crutchfield.com allows you to input your car's year, make, and model and it will tell you which sized speakers you need for the front and rear of your car. Typically the front uses 6.5" and the rear used 6" x 9" speakers, but all cars vary.

First off though, does your car have its stock stereo/headunit still in it or are you already using an aftermarket stereo/headunit? If you have an aftermarket one already in there, what's the model #?
