Next Upgrade?

I have been wanting to upgrade my PC but unsure what would make the biggest impact. In all honesty I don't need to upgrade it at all as it runs games perfectly. Here is a list of my specs at the moment.

 

Asus rog strix x470-f motherboard

corsair vengeance 16gb ddr4 3000mhz RAM

Gtx 1080

Ryzen 1700x

EVGA 650w 80+ gold PSU

144hz monitor at 1920x1080 resolution

 

The upgrades I would like to make are either replace that ryzen with ryzen 2700x or upgrade the monitor to a 144hz qhd monitor.

 

Any suggestions would be great

No point to upgrade cpu until 3000-series comes out in summer or autumn.

2080 ti and that 7 2700X idk what else could be upgraded (there will be no big performance boost even if you upgrade now, except GPU)

Then don't, you won't feel much of a difference without hefty expenses at this point given you have a balanced build.

 

One way to go however is get a big SSD if you're still using HDD.

Yeah, I don't see any SSD love in that list.

 

The new Ryzens may be what you want.  They're too close to being announced for you to upgrade what you have.  Wait and see what they are first.

 

Or go Ultrawide monitor.  That's a personal choice and quite expensive but it's a whole lot of pixel hotness

Sorry yea I forgot to mention hard drives. I don't think I need to upgrade them as I have a 500gb nvme m. 2 drive and then a 4tb hhd with a couple spare SSDs that I found

Cool.  How are your peripherals?   Keyboard, mouse, headphones, speakers?

 

More to the PC experience than just FPS.

Got a 60% mechanical keyboard with cherry mx brown switches and then a corsair scimitar mouse because I have gone 12 buttons and can't go back
